Good Job Growing Up

It was homecoming weekend at my high school, and there were celebrations for alumni from Friday through Sunday. I hadn't attended a homecoming event since I was in college, but some of my old HS friends had been on my case about going to the football game on Saturday, so I figured why not show up and brag about my cool job in the city. JK, most of my classmates have jobs way cooler than mine in New York.

I was in this tight knit clique in high school with four other girls, but by the end of senior year, we had come apart at the seams. Two of the girls, Alex and Casey, got themselves boyfriends and basically dropped off the face of the earth, which of course pissed the other three off (I remember some very dramatic, tearful "Hoes before bros!" fights over the phone. Oh, high school.). Then the third girl, Andrea, who always had issues with food (as in, never ate it and when she did locked herself in the bathroom and turned the water on for twenty minutes), was sent off to some kind of eating disorder clinic for the summer where she wasn't allowed contact with friends from home. I was one of the remaining two, along with my friend, Nicole. My favorite summer was that summer before freshman year of college. We had comically bad fake IDs, but there was this one bar in the city that just didn't care, so there we were almost every night, making out with cute college intern boys who at the time seemed so worldly and wise to me because they wore suits. In reality, they were just a bunch of fratastic boneheads who didn't know what a clitoris was or where it was located, but when I was eighteen years old I didn't have the gift of retrospect, okay?

At the end of the summer,  Nicole and I went our respective ways for college, and midway through freshman year her parents moved to Charlotte, NC. I never saw her when I came home for holidays and summers in NJ, and we lost touch. I still talk to Andrea, Casey and Alex occasionally, but we'll never be as close as we once were, and that's okay.

So that's how the ole gang broke up! It was Andrea who had really been on my case about homecoming. So and so got a boob job and so and so created some app and owns an island now, and I wouldn't regret making a trip out to Jerz to see her rack and his Maserati with my own two eyes.

"Is the app guy single?" I asked. "I have a friend for him."

"He's gay," Andrea said. "Such a shame."

I had invited Ashley, Nina, and Kate to go with me, but only Kate and Ashley took me up on the offer. Nina said she'd done a lot of thinking with this whole Ashley situation and she just didn't feel comfortable pretending everything was okay when it wasn't.

"I wrote her a letter," Nina said.

"You wrote her a letter?" I repeated. "Is this The Notebook?"

"I told her I love her and I will always be there for her but I won't pretend like everything is normal when it isn't."

I sighed. "Nina, it's just going to push her away and that's exactly what Tom wants. To isolate her."

"I don't give a fuck what Tom wants," Nina seethed. Well, then.

I never thought I would have to play peacemaker between Ashley and Nina. I could see Nina's point—I didn't like pretending like everything was hunky-dory when it wasn't, but I didn't know what the alternative was other than shutting Ashley out, which I wouldn't do.

But then it didn't even matter because on Saturday morning, Ashley texted me that she wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be able to make it. That smelled fishy to me, and I'm a regular Nancy Drew, so I called her back instead of texting.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Nothing, my throat is just bothering me," Ashley said. "I don't want to get you sick."

I paused. I wasn't buying that. "Do you want me to just come over instead?"

"Josie," Ashley laughed. "Stop."

I heard a voice in the background—Tom's voice.

"I'll call you later," Ashley said. "Have fun." Then she hung up.

So in the end only Kate and I made the trek out to New Jersey. Kate had her sister's car, and as we made our way through the Holland Tunnel, Kate asked me if I'd heard from Peter.

"Nope," I said. "Not that I expected to."

"Oh, I liked Peter," Kate said.

"I like Peter too," I said. "But our timing is never good. I'm just not in the right place to be in a serious relationship, and it would be serious with Peter. The thought of having to be a good girlfriend when work is as demanding as it is is just overwhelming to me." Kate and I had both been in the office well past our bedtimes the last two nights. I felt guilty that I wasn't in the office at the moment,  but I promised myself I would spend a few hours in my little cubicle on Sunday. Our bosses had promised us they were getting some interns to help out, but that promise had yet to be fulfilled.

"I would be willing to be overwhelmed for that," Kate said, snapping her fingers like she was a sassy character in Bring It On.

"Ew," I said.

"I know, sorry, that was gross," Kate said.

Half an hour later we pulled into the parking lot of my school. It was packed, so I texted Andrea and asked where they were sitting.

'Third row of bleachers,' she wrote. 'Prime view of McKaden's tits.'

As Kate and I made our way through the crowd, I kept my eyes peeled for my ex boyfriend, Luke, who had also dated Ashley and had been a real asshole to her. But compared to Tom, Luke seemed like a dreamboat.

Kate and I found Andrea, Casey, and Alex, and I introduced Kate.

"Are we winning?" I asked.

Andrea snorted. "No. It's already 23 to zero."

"That's embarrassing."

Not like we were really paying attention to the game. Andrea was too busy pointing out all of our former classmates and listing their respective accomplishments, failures, new body parts, and drug problems. When it was finally half time, Andrea and Casey volunteered to save our seats so that Kate, Alex, and I could pillage the concession stand. I was waiting in line, trying to decide between Twizzlers and a soft baked pretzel, when someone said my name.

I turned around. Behind me was a tall guy—really tall, like 6'5—tan, tats on his forearms, and bright blue eyes. I shielded my eyes and gave him another look. I still had no idea who he was.

"Josie," he said again.

"I'm sorry," I said. "I don't...do we know each other?"

He touched his chest. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black skinny jeans. He stuck out like a sore thumb from all the guys in their pastel button downs and sensible dark wash jeans. "It's Ian," he said. When he saw that still wasn't ringing a bell, he said, "Ian Whitmore."

That jogged the ole brain. "Ian?!" I said. "Oh my God, I didn't even recognize you." I didn't know if we should hug or not, but Ian stepped forward and then we were going in for the real thing.

Ian Whitmore transferred to my high school school when he was a sophomore, and while he had always been a giant, he'd been more awkward and gangly beanpole than tall drink of water. He had acne, he wore glasses, and he was so soft spoken teachers always had to ask him to repeat himself in class, a request that made him turn the color of a beet without fail. Ian also happened to be a sick swimmer, and swimming was my 'sport' in high school. I say 'sport' lightly, because I was not a very good swimmer, and I only joined the team because they sucked and they would have me, and it got me out of P.E. Ian and I had struck up a friendship riding the bus to all of our away meets, and during the long waits in between our events (mine was 100 backstroke, his 100 butterfly). I'd always suspected that Ian had a little crush on me, but I had a boyfriend and Ian was the quintessential class nerd. A sweet guy, but it just wasn't going to happen.

I could not even believe it was him standing before me now. He had filled out, and his skin had cleared up. He looked so different...so...hot. And when I hugged him, he smelled like a man—aftershave and a little sweaty from sitting underneath the hot sun because apparently the tri-state area has not gotten the memo that it is Fall.

"You look amazing," I said.

Ian dropped his head and rubbed the back of his neck. He squinted and looked up at me and he could have been a poster that teenage girls hang in their bedrooms. "Thanks. So do you."

"Jos, what do you want?" Kate asked. The mom working the concession stand was waiting on us, and I quickly placed my order and stepped aside.

"So, what are you doing now?" I asked Ian. "Where do you live?"

"LA," Ian said. So that explains the tan. "I'm in the music industry." And the tattoos and skinny jeans.

"That's so great," I said.

"What about you?" he asked.

"New York," I said, which suddenly didn't seem so impressive because everyone we went to high school with lived in New York. "I'm in book publishing."

Kate and Alex were signaling at me, like we had to get back to our seats. "Are you going to the cocktail thing at Kelly's after this?" I asked Ian. Our school always does a 'cocktail hour' at this local bar after homecoming for alumni. I've never once seen someone drink a cocktail at Kelly's, only beer and shots. It inevitably turns into a total shitshow, and it's always so much fun.

"I'll see you there." He smiled and I noticed that he had dimples. Had he always had those?

"Who was that?" Alex asked as we made our way back to the stands.

"Ian Whitmore," I said.

"The swimmer?" Alex asked. I nodded and Alex whistled. "Good job growing up, Ian."

We lost the game—by a lot. But it didn't seem to dampen the celebratory mood of the crowd. When we arrived at Kelly's, everyone was dancing, singing, and drinking. I spotted Ian at the bar, talking to Mr. Davis, who had been our biology teacher, and made my way over to him.

"Hi," I said.

"Hey!" Ian put his hand on my shoulder and squeezed. I didn't even come up to his armpit.

I said hello to Mr. Davis. "I've got to go find my wife," Mr. Davis said. "Good seeing you kids."

"I don't think he even remembered me," I said.

"How could anyone not remember you?" Ian said. He winked at me and I almost fell off the bar stool.

"So did you come back for homecoming?" I asked, trying to steer us into neutral territory so I could reclaim my cool.

"Yes," Ian said. "Because you know me, Mr. Prom King."

I laughed.

"No, I'm in New York for the week for work. I thought, why not stop by?" He took a sip of his beer. "I was hoping I would see you here."

"Really?" I asked.

"Sure," he said. "You were the only person from high school who ever really gave me the time of day."

"That's not true," I said. "What about Charlie? And Joe?" Ian, Charlie, and Joe had been inseparable in high school.

"I meant the only person from the cool crowd who ever gave me the time of day," Ian said. "Guys like Charlie and Joe wouldn't come back for homecoming. They hated high school." It's funny, the way your high school identity can vary from person to person, depending on where that person stood in the chain of popularity. I never saw myself as popular. In fact, there was a group of older girls who were really the epicenter of the popular crowd who took every opportunity they had to cut me down. I always felt like Gretchen Weiners or something.

"I didn't love-love high school either," I said. "But I like stuff like this because I like seeing where everyone ended up. Like you—I never would have guessed you would be in LA, in the music industry. What do you do exactly?"

"Producing," he said.

"Any one I know?" I asked.

Ian leaned in closer to me and I smelled his delicious man smell again. "Everyone you know."

"Wait, seriously...any one who has a story to tell and would want to write a book?"

Ian laughed. "So what are we, networking now?"

"Isn't that what these things are for?"

"I thought these things were for finally making a move on the girl you always had a crush on, because you were too afraid to her ask out when you had the chance."

Whoa. Ian had moves on top of the muscles and the baby blues.

"I'm only in New York for a week," Ian continued. "So tell me you don't have a boyfriend so I can take you on a date."

"I don't have a boyfriend," I said, quietly.

"Good." Ian smiled. It was a cocky smile, any trace of the shy, awkward kid he had been totally gone.

We made plans to meet up that week and exchanged numbers. I left pretty soon after—it was getting dark and Kate doesn't like driving in the dark!

"Okay grandma," I laughed. But I agreed because it couldn't be much fun being at a bar with a bunch of drunk people when you couldn't really drink. I said goodbye to Andrea, Alex, and Casey, and we piled into Kate's sister's car. Another thing I love about high school events—they are either a reminder of how much you love the life you've built for yourself since high school, or they're a wake up call to make a change because you realize you're not very happy with where you are in life. I was fortunate enough to identify with the former sentiment, and that was a good feeling.

  1. Wtf? Josie can't be with Peter because she can't do two things at once but now she can go out with Ian? Ian seems nice enough but Josie needs to figure out what she wants...she claimed she wanted to focus on work but as soon as a cute guy comes along it's a whole other story. As for Josie saying she liked Peter too, since when? She was never into him, she was thinking about hooking up with Richard all the while. Peter deserves someone mature. Curious to know what happened with Elisabeth and William's birthday.

    1. You can like someone and be attracted to another.. Josie clearly did like Peter. It's not a mutually exclusive thing.

    2. Josie does know what she wants. She doesn't want to be in a serious relationship that doesn't mean that she can't date casually. Going out with a cute guy for a date is certainly casual and doesn't come with any obligations!

Just because Josie didn't want to be with Peter doesn't mean she's going to crawl into a hole and become celibate. She wants to be young and have fun!! Good for her.

    3. Josie only wanted Peter because she saw him with someone else. She was so hurt meanwhile she dated Justin, Luke, Grady, etc in the after their relationship ended. She gets pissed when Peter moved on too. i feel Peter was just a challenge to her. Josie only wanted Peter because she saw him with someone else. It was a game to her. She knew that Peter was seeking something serious whereas she wasn't. The problem with Josie is she always needs a man, she's always the victim in the end and every guy she runs into wants her. i love the blog but which one of us can say that every guy we run into wants us like that.

    4. Josie can casually date that's normal, she's just not ready to be in a serious relationship right now. Who knows maybe one day Peter and Josie will find their way back to each and time will be right.

    5. PREACH! I wish just half the guys I met were into me. Josie is just attractive to every single guy she meets.. come on, how likely is that, really?

    6. Can I buy a membership to the club? Every guy that Josie meets is into her and it gets tiresome. I'm beginning to think of this as Sex and the City. Which is fine. I loved that show. Except with only 8 posts a month we need more filler of the normal to justify the extraordinary.

    7. Wow sounds like a lot of bitter people on this blog.

It's entertainment and I for one like hearing about Josie's adventure's.

    8. Agreed, i sense bitterness! this is meant to be a fun blog. And everyone knows best thing after a break up is a casual no strings attached date with a hottie. We all do it, get over it peeps. If we wanted a boring 'live by the rules' story, we'd read the paper.

  2. Seriously, already? This is kind of ridiculous, Josie getting another guy to ask her out already. I know this is a sex blog, but can we have ONE piece where Josie doesn't have a potential love interest? I'll take some one night stands, but if she can't be in a relationship then DON'T KEEP DATING PEOPLE. Take a break!

    1. It's not like he proposed, he's in town for a week meaning it's nothing serious. It's a free meal with a hot guy and probably some great booty with a delicious guy since she's been working her ass off and stressing. I'm all for this date!

    2. Hot guy you used to be friends with in high school asks you out on a date.. you are single. He lives far away so it won't be anything serious, guaranteed. Dates are FUN. I'm confused as to why you would say no here?
      Loosen up!

    3. Knowing the way Josie's luck works, I'd say it's not so guaranteed that it'll be nothing serious..

    4. If you don't want a relationship you shouldn't date? Who made you the joy-kill police? Everyone wants different things out of the dating experience. As long as you're clear about what you want, it's fine.

    5. Hot guy, no strings attached, one date. She isn't going to marry him, calm down. Like you said it's a love/sex blog so take away that factor and it isn't really staying true to it's description is it

    6. Dating does not equal relationship.

But your outrage over the break up with Peter is pretty hilarious. Did the writer ever give Peter a last name. People talk like he is a real person I wonder if anyone has tried to find him on the internet to pick up the pieces of his broken heart. HAHAHAHA!

Its fiction people these people are NOT real!

    7. I think dating casually lasts for what...a couple weeks? Unless you're fine with seeing each other now and then with no prospect of a future because you're such great friends. Yes, it happens. Rarely, though.

If you don't want much, don't date. Spend the time to actually focus. Not redirect.

  3. Ten bucks says her and Ian are on a date and they bump into Peter. I hope Peter calls her out on her hypocrisy. He is right: she loves drama. I hate to say it she likes having all these guys being into her. It's an ego trip to make her feel good about herself. Insecure and selfish Josie has returned. No thank you.

    1. OMG just because Josie didn't want to be in a serious relationship with Peter doesn't mean she can't date.

I feel like a lot of people on this blog doesn't understand the difference between a serious committed relationship and casual dating ...

    2. Melissa, Josie flip flops all the time about what she wants. She told Peter to break up with his GF if he wanted to call her. Why would she do that? If she didn't want to start something with him, then why ask? Josie hates it when her exes move on after being with her. She's insecure and it's always the main issue in her relationships. I know the difference between committed and causal relationships. Her excuse to Peter was she can't focus on two things at once. So how does casually dating different people fit into not being able to focus on multiple things? She contradictated herself. Peter wasn't a distraction. She was mad at herself for making a bad decision about Elizabeth. She didn't like the fact that Peter called her out for not thinking. She messes up and blames the person who pointed it out. That's being immature.

    3. She told him to break up with his girlfriend because he essentially cheated on her with Elizabeth so she wasn't willing to put herself in the position with him again. Peter's a big boy and he knew damn well that he might not be able to get Josie back. Josie didn't promise him that if he broke up with his girlfriend that she'd get back into a serious relationship with him. And Peter sought out Josie, not the other way around.

And casually dating in NO WAY takes the same amount of dedication and emotional energy as a committed relationship. Casual dating can be grabbing drinks with someone once or twice and maybe making out. And if you can't meet up with someone because of a work deadline then you cancel and there's no deeper issues about not caring enough about the person to make time for them. So Josie definitely can focus on her career and casually date.

If you don't understand the differences between those then I can say you've either never tried casually dating or you're the type of person who can't casually date.

    4. Actually Melissa, I have casually dated. I know how to balance things in life. There was no proof that he cheated on her with Elizabeth. She thought he did, but never really asked him outright. Josie opened the can of worms with Peter when she told him to break up with his GF. She was getting all retrospective and sad when she saw Peter in the Hamptons. Just like she compared herself to the ex-wife, she did it again with his GF. They were broken up for almost 10 months. She wanted the guy without having to look like the other woman. And from her track record, Josie can't do casual without getting worked up in a frenzy. If and when Peter moves on, she will get jealous, sad, mad, etc. Because that's what her character does. Everyone keeps saying she's young and she's allowed to have fun. But it seems like every time she has "fun" (alcohol) she makes a bad decision and then gets pissed.

    5. You guys do realise you're arguing over fiction? Just to clarify...

Plus no strings attached, hot guy sex. NOT the same as a relationship especially when the guy lives across the country

    6. That is apart of being young. I mean she is 25. She will probably go through 2 or 3 more relationships before finding the guy to settle down with. Because she will keep making the same mistakes. IT makes her young and inexperienced. I think most readers want her to be codependent on Peter just because she told him to call her when he wasn't with his GF. That wasn't a instant commitment to Peter that was a "I won't even consider us casual or otherwise unless you are free." I don't see anything wrong with it. Peter is a big boy no one forced him to break up with his GF and no one forced him to pursue Josie again. So Josie was sad when she saw Peter with his GF at the Hamptons big whoop! She was just reflecting on her relationship with Eric does that mean if he pops back up she needs to settle down with him? People reflect they get emotional and move on. It doesn't mean Josie pledged her life to the boring Peter.

    7. "And casually dating in NO WAY takes the same amount of dedication and emotional energy as a committed relationship"

LoL, really?! If you're in a committed relationship, it shouldn't be hard to take a rain check on a date you had with them. Relationships take trust and understanding to work. So they should be able to understand if shit happens. If they get all bent out of shape then that's not a fair relationship. If you're casually dating you have to worry about which date is what night (If you're dating more then 1 guy), making sure you have the right outfit, hoping to have enough things to talk about so you seem interested, etc.

  4. Why hello Ian??? LOL That's right bring somemore meat to the party!! :)

OMG Please people relax. This is fiction, Peter is fake, Josie is fake. Relax! Not being with Peter is not the end of the world for Josie. You guys really have a unhealthy obsession with the guy. Yikes!

  5. Ian sounds like a mix of Ian somerhalder and Adam Levine ;)
Still gonna miss Peter, but HOPE the Ian romance is HOT AND HEAVY ;)

  6. Ooohh this blog is just too entertaining! Josie, u sure know how to keep it spicy! As for Peter..well, time and place for everything right!

  7. Peter wants to get married and have babies, why on earth would a 25 year old in NYC who is just establishing her career want to be involved with him? She should be dating and having fun, why does everything think just because Peter is a good guy and mature that she should all of a sudden settle down? Plus, it is a fictional blog, of course we want her to date and entertain us with stories, who wants to read about her settling down!

    1. Thank you, best post on here!!! People are flipping out about her being immature where I think it was smart of her to realize she couldn't give Peter what he wanted and let him go.

    2. Exactly!! 100% Agree!

    3. Finally someone gets it!! Well said!

  8. I might have missed it but I was curious if Josie is an only child. I'm glad that Josie and Peter broke up...they are at different points in their lives and want different things. Ian seems nice enough but when will Josie find time to go out with him. She is putting in killer hours at work and even potentially working weekends. Josie needs to have fun and find herself but I would like her to do it without a, man just for a week or two...lol.

Where is crazy Elizabeth and what is she up to? I feel bad for Ashley, she is in such a bad situation. I'm not sure I like the high school friends...lol...they seem to gossipy but who knows. I'm also curious about the book Josie ghost wrote for, was it published yet and is that going to play out on the reality show? Anyways these posts have been awesome since moving from cosmo and I'm excited to read what happens next.

  9. Eeeh kinda disappointed w this post. I was expecting to hear about the elizabeth and william drama...was kind of bored.

    1. agreed. what's happening with all the other fun drama? Plus, bringing in yet another man? someone nailed it on the head earlier. How is EVERY single guy she thinks is hot automatically really into her? I know this is a fake blog, but it wouldn't hurt to be a little realistic.

  10. Josie didn't want to be with Peter because he wanted something more then her. He also was acting very immature when he wasn't getting his way. Can't say I'll miss the guy! I think that its great that she ran into Ian hopefully it ends up being a hot date I kinda like the idea of her running into Peter on her date. Dont read the blog if you don't like it or Josie !

  11. I wish just one guy Josie met wasn't into her. I know this is a fun, fictional dating blog, but a little realism might not hurt. No girl gets all this attention from practically every guy she meets.

Also, off topic but I'm curious - I only started reading this past July, but has Josie ever had sex and not gotten off? I swear, she gets off every single time, which doesn't work with making it realistic (unless she's one of those lucky girls who can get off from sex alone.. in which case, lucky!)

But I love the storyline in general - look forward to it every Tuesday and Thursday! I look forward to her and Ian's date - but please, please keep it casual instead of having Josie jump into yet ANOTHER relationship.

  12. I don't know why people accuse Josie of being selfish and leading Peter on etc. etc. She is young, she wants to be single and casually date and there is nothing wrong with that. Sometimes you meet a guy and fall for him but the timing messes it all up. You just aren't ready for the serious relationship, even if it is the right guy. For people to say, if it was the right guy, it would work out, is crazy. Life doesn't work like that. You have to be willing to work for it, and if you aren't, even the perfect one for you will get away.

  13. Am I the only one who suddenly wants pictures of Ian? HEY GIRLLLL get it!

  14. Josie can't do casual. I've watched this blog since day one. She thinks she can but her feelings come in and screw everything up. She either decides she wants to know "what they're doing" or she gets a little jealous or something something something.
I'm just saying, this is te same girl that said, "I love Peter" and "I care for Peter" in the last post, and now is saying "I like Peter."
Shes a little too.....dramatic....for casual. Just saying.
Oh, and the whole Ian "nerd turned hottie" concept reminds me of every lame unrealistic rom com ever invented. I bet I already know where it's going. But we shall see.

    1. I think this is true to life. Many of us can be a bit like this when dating...

  15. Josie doesn't want anything serious. And Peter is awesome but way too serious. I LOVE the new guy. I'm sure Josie will end up being serious with someone in the near future but it wasn't the right timing. I totally get that.

  16. I feel like people forget this blog is fictional. You all would complain and say it's boring or a "filler post" if there is no love interest. Lighten up and enjoy the story!

  17. If Josie just gets with Peter then the blog is over right? I'm for Peter but more blog, less Peter is still better than an early exit to the story of Josie.

    1. Also, Peter is probably going to be back in the picture later... This coming from a guy's perspective. I followed Bedroom Blog with K and this is the best single girl blog I've ever read, I'm glad it continued over here. I say trust the writer and go along for the ride...

  18. This post was ok but I'm getting confused with josie...please dont let this new ian guy be more than getting in touch with an old friend because the last post she ditched peter to allegedly focus on her career blah blah blah. also please get ashley out of that blasted relationship with tom. she needs serious intervention and get her a bit of goodluck.

  19. Seriously its a blog not real life the people who are always hating need to realize that if u don't like it then dont read it

  20. I love how this post ended, because it's soo true!

  21. Really! You skipped the whole part of Elizabitch and what happened thursday with williams typewriter. -_- meany

    Renee Marie

  22. I am thinking many of you don't know whats its like to be a pretty 20 something year old. Its very easy and very realistic for Josie to have every guy be into her. My jaded brain thinks they all only want sex tho. Its unrealistic to me that she would be interested in every guy who talks to her tho.

    Renee Marie

    1. Every guy out there will not be interested in a girl because she's pretty. Men have preferences, some like blondes, others brunette; some like thin women, others thick women and so forth. It's like every man she meets wants to be with her. not realistic. She's the friend we all have who thinks every man wants her, is overly dramatic and claims to have her shit together but has no clue what she wants.

  23. Hellllllooooo, Ian!! WOoooo!! :)

  24. And so what happens to Richard? Totally left out? Ian? Why is it that every one she met she thinks they are "hot"? I mean be realistic bout it, she can't be liking each and everyone of them?

  25. YES! Finally a new guy! Uuuugh finally this wasn't a post about peter, woohoo! Lol. And from the description ian sounds hot.....except for the skinny jeans =/ lol. I was just so happy to see a new post with new things going on and new people....it was refreshing. And I'm sure jessica will get back to some of the unfinished story lines, but I know I and some others as well have been waiting for a new guy to come around and erase peters old butt from josies brain! Lol. A lot of people are taking this blog and its comments a little to serious. But we each have opinions so it is what it is I guess. Anyway, I hope josie and ian end up having a good time, whatever they end up doing ;) and for some reason, when kate asked about peter and said ”oh I liked peter”, it gave me the impression that she's on to something. Whether she just has a feeling something is going on with josie and richard or she knows because richard told her. Can't wait for thursday!

  26. oooooooooooooooooooooooo Ian sounds sexaaaaaaaaaaay ! Bring it on !!!!!!!!!!!

  30. Calm down people. Peter will be back into the story line. Let the girl live a bit! Am I the only one wondering WHO Peter was texting so ferociously when Josie came back from taking Elizabeth off the security list?!

Downstairs in the lobby, Peter was hunched over his phone, texting away. He looked up when he saw me.

  31. Loved this post!

I noticed a few commenters bringing up Josie's hypocrisy re: Peter and how she shouldnt have told him not to call her if he was still with his girlfriend. I just want to point out that ANY girl should (in my opinion) tell ANY guy not to call her if he has a girlfriend (obviously excluding just friends). Because it isnt okay for a guy in a relationship to be hitting up a girl who's not his gf, unless, as I said, they're just friends. Substitute Peter for any other guy: Josie was saying that she's not willing to be the "other woman". She's been cheated on before, knows how much it sucks, and doesnt want to participate in doing that to any other girl. So, I definitely don't think she was making Peter any promises by saying that. Just my 2 cents!!

Also, dating casually is totally appropriate and not remotely hypocritical, ESPECIALLY with a guy from LA (good call on that detail, Jessica!). This should make for some really fun and interesting posts!!!

    1. Josie did that to another girl, remember Justin had a girlfriend when she was his friend with benefit.

  32. I was expecting hear to more about the aftermath of the Peter breakup. Is she not upset at all? It seems to me that Josie was not that into Peter the second time around. From the get go, there has been issues with Grady, Richard, her job and then they break up and she is already interested in someone else. I think it has less to do with being serious and more to do with her just not feeling it with Peter. Maybe she got stung with that Elizabeth drama and never fully trusted him again...I think she thought she forgave but kind of didn't. I am not sure I blame her. Think about it, he brought up the relationship talk the first time around, he said I love you first and then he completely bailed to be back with his ex. She went out on a limb with him and got burned badly.

I just hope Richard deosn't make a reappearance, I hate that guy.

  33. I loved this post. Very interested in seeing where things go with Ian!

  34. It's kinda a shame that literally each blog post she's going from one guy to the next. I'd like to see Josie develop more as herself, and not just Josie working through boy issues. I get the blogs about sex and love but the stars can't always be aligned for it.

  35. Superb blog...........!
